![]() ![]() I live in the Hills too and while I love going OUT for a ride, it's a grueling stand-up GRIND in first gear to get home. The 2015 Dash does come with much better brakes than the 2014 model I originally bought and they are probably good enough for most people.Nice. I upgraded the rear brake to a BB7 so I can easily adjust the pads by hand. I also ride on pretty steep fire roads and am very hard on the brakes. The E3 Dash has made these impossible hills very doable now and I really like it. I live where there are impossible hills that I actually needed to walk my conventional bike up and it was not much fun. I like the bike a lot and it will do 28 mph on level ground with no problem. Some improved social skills on the phone wouldn't hurt though. I understand manufacturing and quality control and that nothing is 100% flawless. I was told they were stress testing another motor and would send it to the bike shop on May 15 for installation. My local shop contacted your support that evening and they did some troubleshooting. However, a little empathy for a first time ebike purchaser doesn't take much effort and might go some distance to help preserve some brand loyalty. I did in fact call your support line on May 13 after the second motor failed and I was dismissed off the phone with "take it to your dealer, they're the authorized repair shop." I realize that your support isn't going to go in depth with me on troubleshooting the motor/controller. Kind regards, the Currie Technologies Team. Thanks for the support. We would like to ensure that you have trouble free performance from your IZIP E3 Path+, so please contact our Support team at (800) 377-4532. We stand by the quality of our products, and always ensure that there is full support behind all of our eBikes. Your motor has a warranty of two years, and it is unusual for issues like this to occur. Hello gskbrew, we're sorry to hear you have had issues with your IZIP E3 Path+ Motor. Do I roll the dice and get another replacement motor, hoping that it was only pure dumb luck that I got a couple of motors from a bad quality control day at the factory, or do I just tell the bike shop owner I'd like a different brand of bike. Needless to say, this has shaken my confidence in the Currie Tech motors and the Path+ bike. However this time they will not have another replacement wheel for me and I'm certain to be waiting days for a replacement to arrive. I will be taking the bike back to the shop tomorrow. Three days later and now at ~90 miles, the same exact thing has happened again. ![]() I took it back to my bike shop and they confirmed there was something wrong with the motor and swapped my wheel and motor with another Path+ model in the shop. The bike would move at normal speed, but when lifted off of the ground, the rear wheel would not freely spin. After two days of riding (~35 miles) I heard a grinding/rattling sound coming from the rear hub where the motor is located. Last week I purchased an Izip E3 Path+ bike from my local electric bike shop. ![]()
